The A1 Family!

College, a place for learning and making life long friends!
The process of making new friends in college is very tedious and requires as a lot of time,
But, somehow, the dorm that I am currently living in, making new friends seems so easy...easy as cake!
The moment I set a foot into my dorm for the first time in September, everybody on my floor was my friend already!

These days, we have so much fun in my dorm, specifically my wing, A100!
We are like a family,
A1 power!

Fun after the Snow Storm!

SO, it finally mother nature finally decides to end the snow storm...
thus, me and my buddies decide to have more fun!
We decided to "attempt" to make a snow man!
As you can see in this picture, my friends are in the process of working...and weight lifting...xD
Well...in the end...it really wasn't a snow man...I'll upload a picture on it on the bottom!
We had so much fun that night...snowball fight in front of library...then chilled in my friends room...then settled to attempt to make a snowman!
Good times, good times!

Snow Storm #2

WE had another snow storm in Stony Brook!!!
Classes were cancelled, we all had fun!
I decided to go walk out in the snow with my friend to the other side of campus, just to meet up with other friends and eat dinner!
Call us crazy if you would like to, but, it was a fun and interesting track to the other side of campus!
I snapped this photo along the way...
I thought that it looked very inspirational and pretty!
That is one of the trees in front of our in campus book store and library!

Back in College!

ON the first day back from winter break...
I met my good 'ole friends again!
I felt so happy to see them...I haven't seen them for at least a little over a month!
I missed them very much!
It so happened that one of my friend's birthday passed during the break...and she wanted to celebrated it with us!
Thus, we all went to a in campus restaurant called Wolfie's and ate dinner there!

I went to Wolfie's about 2 times last semester...it wasn't that good...
But, while we were gone for break...they have been doing some improvements!
Everything was much better!

We had so much fun at Wolfie's!
The food was pretty good, much better than it was last semester!
I was very satisfied after I ate!
There were about 12-13 of us there!
At the end...we decided to get our belated birthday "girl" a cake and embarrass her by singing happy birthday very loudly!
hahahahaha, it was so fun and funny!

After we ate, we all went back to our dorms...
and a bunch of us lived in the same dorm...thus...we hanged out for a bit...
It was a very good start for my spring semester!
I hope the rest of my days will be as happy as this day!

(Sorry for the bad quality of the photo! It was taken with my cellphone with poor lighting...I forgot my camera at that time...)

It snowed again!

SNOW!
It is finally snowing again in Stony!
It's just to bad that it snowed so little...
There's not enough snow on the ground to make a snowball fight or to make a snowman/angel...
Oh well...
Hopefully it'll snow more next time!

Back in College!

I am finally back in college...
Spring semester just started...
This photo shows the stuff that I brought with me...minus a very very very small fridge...
That's a lot of stuff...right?
hahahahaha
seems like I'm moving out!
I have to say...it was necessary...most of this stuff here are hoodies, jackets, and food!
I was very surprised that all this stuff actually fitted into my aunt's BMW!

My beloved Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra (BLYCO)!

I don't if you guys have been reading my other blogs or not...but...if you do...you guys probably noticed that I talk about the Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra (BLYCO) alot...right?
You guys are probably wondering why I am talking about it so much...

I have been part of BLYCO since it was founded! (I believe it is the year of 2001-2002)
My dad is the director and conductor!
I have made 60% of my childhood friends in BLYCO!
We are all so closely knit together that we are all almost like family...

We play traditional Chinese instruments...
Recently we have been trying to integrate western music/traditions into our music!
We've added western instruments like the violin, viola, cello, flutes...etc to our orchestra!
We've even performed with a live band!
We are still experimenting with new styles!
BLYCO is the very first Youth Chinese Orchestra established in New Jersey, USA!
The BLYCO is well known throughout the Buddha's Light International Asso. (BLIA) and various countries!
We've been invited to perform with many famous Chinese artists, bands, and groups! (Eastern Legends, Kou Chou Ching...etc.)
We also go on tours every other year! Thus far, we have toured most of Taiwan and Europe! We will soon go to Canada and many other countries!
If you guys get a chance, you guys should come listen to our live performances! I'll post up the performances and information on this blog and my other blogs! Keep your eyes open for these performances! You will definitely enjoy it!

This is a old practice picture...I would've uploaded a more up-to-date photo...but...I don't have any at my disposal...sorry...

Party at my friend Sarah's!

This is a group photo of me and my good friends from Middle School to High School!
Some of us even know each other for longer periods of time! I know at least one person in this photo since Elementary School...
All of us have been through a lot together...we survived the many different levels of school, up to college that is, together...we graduated together, we had classes together...
We're like a family now...
This photo is from a party that my friend Sarah decided to plan/make before all of us go back to college...
It was too bad that some of our other friends had to go back to college already and couldn't make it...
I miss this bunch already...Hopefully I'll see them during spring break!

In route to Stony Brook University!

I snapped this photo while on a road trip to Stony Brook University!
I look handsome right?
heh heh heh
This was in the back seat of my family's newest car, the 2010 Toyota Prius!
I have to say...it is quite comfy in the backseat!
Plus we only used up half of the gasoline in the tank at the time!
If we took my mom's Subaru Forester....we would've used up nearly the whole tank of gas!
3-4 hour drive to Stony Brook University, from home that is. depending on traffic...
But still...I love Stony Brook University...despite the distance from home...

Another way to help victims of the Haiti earthquake!

I have friend, Jayson, who has started a meetup group called the NY/NJ Bucket List...
He is making a effort to raise money for the victims in the Haiti Earthquake...
" Announcing a new Meetup for NY / NJ - The Bucket List!

What: PC Repair with Love - A Fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake

When: Thursday, January 14, 2010 8:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

I just got an awesome idea. I want to help the people of Haiti, but I didn't know how, but I just came up with this idea. I have been working with PCs prior to 1997. I been working for many well known corporations such as Viacom, Pfizer, ABC, etc... computer providing pc support and repair. Any way for the next 3 days or so; depending how this goes I'm going to start this fundraiser. PC Repair with LOVE - A fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake. If you have a PC, Internet question, suggestion, etc... send me an email. I'll try to fix it or try to provide a solution. In doing so you agree to provide a repair fee. 100% of the money will go to a respectable charity for Haiti. I haven't decided yet. I'll see how many I can do. If need be I can even remote into your pc from home.

Help those in need...Earthquake in Haiti!

As I have mentioned before...in my previous post...
There was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti...
Many people have lost their lives and gotten injured in this tragedy...
Many people have lost their homes as well...
Thinking about this tragedy...we must all appreciate that we are safe and that we are so fortunate to still have all these pleasures that many people lost/don't have...

I am asking you guys, my readers and visitors, to join me in the effort to help those people in need of help...
Wherever you guys see people doing fund raising events and similar activities to raise money, please donate!
Every penny/dollar makes a difference! Just as a common saying, "One man can make a difference".
I got this from my college, Stony Brook University...

"
How to Help

The University is now coordinating a response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti:
Cash Contributions
The Faculty Student Association and the Interfaith Center are coordinating the collection and forwarding cash contributions from members of the University. Collected cash and checks should be sent to the Interfaith Center for deposit into the FSA account. All gifts will go to the American Red Cross, the agency with broadest reach and swiftest delivery. At present, only cash contributions and checks (made out to the American Red Cross) can be accepted. Credit card donations should be made online through the American Red Cross.
More ways to help:
  • You can help immediately by texting "HAITI" to "90999" (on your non-state issued personal cell phone) and a donation of $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill and given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts.

  • Wyclef Jean, a rapper and hip-hop artist from Haiti, urged people to text "Yele" to 501501 (on your non-state issued personal cell phone) to donate $5 toward earthquake relief. Yéle Haiti is a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts, and the environment.

  • The State Department Operations Center has set up the following number for Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti: 1-888-407-4747.
  • A broader list of relief organizations is available here."

Please help, like I said before..."one man can make a difference" and every penny/dollar makes a difference!

2010 Buddha's Light Vegetarian Gala Success!

I have to say...the 2010 Buddha's Light Vegetarian Gala was a HUGE success!
This event not only produced 300+ attendees but also raised about $15000+ in donations!
This even was very fun and interesting!
I saw many different ethnic groups and people in this event!
The environment was very warm and amicable, everyone was wearing smiles and very willing to help and donate!
I would like to say thank you to all those who have helped and donated for a very good cause!
This event was a very good experience!

Meet Porthous, the Cockatiel!

MEET Porthous!

He is very cute and adorable...he is even funny at times!
I love him so much!
I got him on April 4th, 2004...he is still with me currently!

Check out a video that I mad of him doing the singing, chirping, and dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhiPM0eu22Q

Autumn is coming

I found this lovely tree while I was in route to my Math lecture in Stony Brook University...
I have never seen such a beautiful looking tree that displayed the lovely side of autumn!
All the other trees that I have passed have already lost many leaves and didn't express much "emotion"
This tree just simply caught my eye...
This is the proof that autumn is coming along!
